Aquila Romany

Taking her place as the seventh born and shortest in the Romany family, Aquila is a quiet individual. Her ability to adapt to any situation brought her through the worst of events: her families separation.
Her greatest pride and beauty lies in her long, thick, black hair. It would almost seem as if there's more hair than an actual person as she has a very small frame.

Making her life in an old abandoned palace sitting nestled on the side of a mountain cliff, she traps animals to sell their furs once a month in town but is never seen otherwise. She travels on foot everywhere she goes and is alone with the exception of her friend, Leo, a dragon that has become her faithful friend and Guardian.
She has big black eyes that almost seem too big for her face and partly from her family heritage but also due to her outdoor activities her dark skin compliments them. She faces daunting feats fearlessly but only because she knows she wouldn't make it otherwise and is sometimes tempted to let her guard down in pointless, hopeless, and time-wasting (she tells herself) dreams of a knight in shining armor.
When in danger by animals or other humans, her clothing, hair, and small figure allow her to blend into her surroundings so that she is unnoticeable. When faced with a problem she can take on the spirit of a warrior in an incredible way like that passed on from generation to generation but much prefers a quieter and calmer way of life like that of her closest friend and confidante.

Haley Crenwelge

I'm the second oldest of 10 children. No, we're not rich. No, we're not Mormons, Pentacostal, or Catholic. We're Christians saved by Grace. :-) I go to North Belt Baptist and have been for the past 15 years and hold down a part time job at Champion Forest Baptist in the children's department.
I discovered my love for writing when I was 14 and have several books in the workings. My love for writing is mostly in Christian fiction/romance books but I have written a few poems, one called, "When God Seems Far Away" published in the book, "EPIC 2006" by EPIC New Voices. This is my first Fantasy Fiction attempt.
I was first introduced to the Wayside Inn Writers' Society by Rachel Rossano (Wren, The Crown of Anavrea www.xanga.com/anavrea) and then introduced to the idea through those involved. I loved the idea but I wasn't sure how easy it would be until Aquila introduced herself to me and told me her story. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I have enjoyed meeting her.
